More About Us
Hub & Spoke, LLC is the brainchild of founder, Melissa Noonan. In third grade, after extensive hours pouring over the maps tacked to her bedroom wall, and nose-deep research in the latest travel guidebooks, she planned her first tour. The destination was Charleston, S.C. complete with her first tour guests: grandmother, mom, and sister. Thus began her lifelong love of travel and trip planning.
Subsequently, she coordinated high school church choir tours, participated in study abroad programs, led university alumni groups on foreign tours, and home-school educated her children abroad. In the early 2000's, Melissa became interested in a hub and spoke philosophy of travel wherein a traveler picks a home base for an extended stay and day trips out from that location. She found that her travel experiences were richer as she began to meet and get to know the locals and gained a deeper understanding of the cultures that she visited. After years of sharing that form of highly immersive slow travel with her friends and family, Melissa decided it was time to bring it to you!
Melissa Noonan has an undergraduate degree from Centre College, Danville, KY (Thanks to Milton Reigelman's Humanities class for igniting a love of Dante and all things Tuscan!) and a Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX. A member of the Texas Bar, Melissa is also a licensed Texas real estate broker.
