What to Expect
Tennis anyone?! Whether you're a seasoned player or an enthusiastic spectator, this is a golden opportunity to combine a passion for tennis with your love of travel. We will play on (or watch from the sidelines of) both classic red clay and artificial turf courts encircled by hills covered with vineyards. And when we’re not immersed in the game, we will savor world-class chianti and farm-to-table Tuscan cuisine and explore charming medieval villages.
Your accommodations include seven nights in an idyllic Tuscan setting between Siena and Florence. With commanding views of Chianti and nestled into olive groves and vineyards, our home for the week is a farmhouse villa and adjacent outbuildings that have been restored into a retreat that preserves the beautiful characteristics of the original structure with open beam ceilings, brick arches, and terracotta floors.
Your days will include tennis with our international tennis professionals. After our daily tennis program, we will set out to experience the sites of Tuscany. A few sightseeing highlights include expert-led VIP private tours of cities, towns, and marketplaces such as Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano. Plus, you will get the opportunity to eat in some of our friends’ homes while sipping wines made from the grapes surrounding you. It’s safe to say that you will not go hungry!
So you're not a tennis player? You will be given a choice of an alternative adventure while the tennis enthusiasts get in their best volleys. However, most of our non-tennis participants enjoy an extra bit of downtime to sip an authentic Italian coffee in a nearby coffee bar or simply relax at their Tuscan home away from home.

We not only get to play on the traditional red clay, but sometimes we are fortunate enough to get the opportunity to play on a friend’s artificial turf tennis court!
Chianti Tennis is a unique tour for tennis enthusiasts. We have combined world-class tennis instruction on red clay and artificial turf courts with immersive food, wine, art, and cultural experiences. This itinerary is for EVERYONE! Yes, there is tennis on the daily program, but you certainly do not have to be a tennis player to travel on this tour.
Unpack once and settle in to become a temporary local for a week while staying in our small hometown in Tuscany. Located between Florence and Siena., your comfortable accommodations in a farmhouse villa surrounded by olive groves set the stage for your immersive week. We are true locals here so you will also meet many of our friends and even join them for a meal in their homes!
The rhythm of our days will include daily tennis sessions with our professionals, lunch and sightseeing, a pausa before dinner, and fantastic nightly dinners in the homes of our friends or in our favorite nearby restaurants.
On this tour, we will visit Florence, the Cradle of the Renaissance. In Florence, we will visit off-the-beaten-path artisans’ workshops, even participating in a class that teaches the traditional Florentine marbled paper techniques. We will visit a bustling local fruit and vegetable market and shop at our friend’s leather shop! If you’ve been to Florence before, you will see it with new eyes. If this is your first time, you will be introduced to a Florence that many never have the opportunity to experience!
We will not just taste Italian delicacies, you will get an opportunity to try our hand in the kitchen with an Italian cooking class. You will play an integral role as you help to craft a meal that we will all savor together.
Want to visit the Manhattan of Tuscany? We will visit the famed town of medieval towers, San Gimignano, and dine on a farm that produces the golden-hued vernaccia wine. We will also spend time in the renowned wine region of Chianti visiting several wine producers, discovering their cellars, and tasting their vintages. We love the authenticity of local markets in the small towns in our area and will have fun exploring all of the stalls for the many Made in Italy products!
You will adore your visit to Siena, the city of the famed Palio horse race. There is lots to learn surrounding this Sienese tradition, including the importance of the contrada. We will make sure to visit the unique shell-shaped piazza where the race is run by bareback jockeys twice yearly.
In the autumn our tours coincide with the olive harvest season, offering us a rare chance to experience the traditional Tuscan olive harvest. We’re thrilled to offer you the chance to participate in this authentic activity usually reserved for locals. After our hands-on harvesting experience, we celebrate with a beautiful outdoor feast set adjacent to a charming vineyard.
There are so many things to see and do in our area that it is difficult to distill it down to just one week! But we will try to fit in as much as possible for you while also balancing your need for a little downtime on your vacation. As is always the case with our tours, because you are here with locals and traveling with such a small group {usually no more than 12}, we will take advantage of any special events, festivals, or fun detours that present themselves during your stay. This is our home base in Italy, so come along with us for a trip full of deep, immersive cultural experiences that you won’t soon forget!

Your Financial Responsibilities
You are responsible for airfare and transportation to and from the initial designated tour meeting location, passport fees, meals other than those described above, personal items, single-occupancy supplement, and any additional lodging nights. Unscheduled (and often spontaneous) optional activities may also be offered at an additional cost, such as tour extensions in lieu of leisure time, bike rentals, stops at specialty shops, and additional wine and liquor purchases.
If so desired, you are responsible for choosing and purchasing a travel insurance policy that best suits your particular coverage needs. Hub & Spoke highly recommends travel insurance.
Itinerary
The order of experiences listed and specific activities in the itinerary may change for any given tour, based on the availability of our preferred guides, the weather, and the exclusive nature of the experiences.
Payment
A deposit of $1000 USD per person is due upon booking. The final balance is due no later than 120 days prior to tour commencement. Payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Installments may be arranged directly with Hub & Spoke.
Registration deposit and final balance are non-refundable. Travel insurance is strongly recommended and should include Trip Cancellation, Emergency Medical Evacuation, Baggage, and Accident and Medical Insurance. There are also insurance options that allow you to "Cancel for any Reason". Travel insurance options can be found at insuremytrip.com.
Pricing Adjustments
Pricing may be adjusted in the future due to inflation and currency fluctuations. Your price is guaranteed only at the time of your deposit.
Cancellation Policy
You will receive a full refund of your deposit if Hub & Spoke must cancel your tour.
Should you need to cancel up to 120 days prior to your tour commencement date, your full deposit may be applied to a future tour commencing within 12 months of your canceled tour.
If you cancel your tour between 119 and zero days prior to tour commencement, there will be no credits or refunds by Hub & Spoke, LLC. You will need to follow the conditions set forth in your travel insurance policy.
Responsibility Statement and Liability Disclaimer
Hub & Spoke LLC and its owners and team members do not own or operate any entity which provides, or is to provide, goods or services to any Hub & Spoke tour, including accommodations, vehicles, meals, activities, or other services. Because Hub & Spoke does not exercise any control over the personnel, equipment, or operations of these suppliers, Hub & Spoke is not liable for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any such third person, or of any other third party.
Hub & Spoke is not responsible for losses, injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to illness, pandemics, endemics, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, terrorist acts, acts of nature, local laws or other such causes.
Hub & Spoke is not responsible for any baggage or personal effects of any individual participating in any Hub & Spoke tour.
If in the unlikely event that Hub & Spoke must cancel a tour, the entire amount paid by the traveler will be refundable or carried as a credit toward another Hub & Spoke tour within 12 months of the canceled tour. Hub & Spoke will have no additional obligations, including costs or fees related to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or other travel reservations. This includes delays, cancellations, and any non-refundable expenses.
Individual travelers are responsible for purchasing a travel insurance policy that will cover certain trip cancellations and interruptions, emergency medical evacuation, loss of luggage or personal effects, and other such coverage. Hub & Spoke strongly encourages our guests to purchase travel insurance.
